City Market Food Tour

Indianapolis City Market

Built in 1886, the City Market is the last remaining public market house in Indianapolis. As part of the flourishing east side of downtown Indianapolis, it served the community as the best source for fresh meat, fish, poultry, produce, dairy and baked goods. It yielded the start of life in America for many families, as Immigrants new to the area started businesses and restaurants inside the market providing dining options and distinctive regional flavors.
